Ore Community Centre

Welcome to Ore Community Centre

We are now closed until further notice. Stay safe!

If you know of anyone in the Ore area, who is in the elderly or vulnerable category,

as stated by the Government's guidelines on the 16th March,

and needs help with food, shopping, getting a prescription etc please get in touch via email.

At Ore Community Centre our ethos is to ‘serve the local community’ by bringing

together the local residents for educational, exercise, and social activities.

The Centre is run by the Ore Community Association which is a charity

run by local people and the users of the centre.

We have various rooms available to for hire. Please see our Room Hire page for more details.

There is a café which is closed at present, but will be relaunched after

lockdown when it will offer fresh food daily, nutritious soups,

delicious cakes and lovely lunches, all at reasonable prices.

We have a lovely community garden at the front of the property with a

seating area for the enjoyment of local residents.

There is good disabled access together with toilet facilities.

Whilst we have been closed a lot of work has been carried out to address the significant historic environmental health, fire and electrical safety concerns. Also we have had time to redecorate parts of the Centre to benefit the users.

Four new Trustees are in the process of being appointed. Huge thanks to Ron Spence who has now stood down after many years of sterling service.

The marine cadets are no longer based or meeting at the Community Centre.
