Ore Community Centre

Welcome to Ore Community Centre

Classes and group activities are restarting again. Watch this space for further information.

For now, to speak to someone about hiring a room or any other community centre matter, our reception hours are Monday to Friday 12.00pm to 2.00pm.  You can contact us on 01424 432719 or by email.

Ore Community Centre is looking for volunteers!

As we start to open up classes and groups, every penny raised is going on the upkeep of the building.

We no longer have any staff so our trustees and volunteers are keeping everything going.

You may have a special skill in administration, fundraising, writing bids, want to work with young people, want to help in the community café (opening soon!), enjoy baking or love painting and decorating. Whatever your passion or skill, we need you to help us save the Ore Community Centre.

It's a great way to make new friends and become a valued member of the community team. Between us, we can build up the Ore Community Centre again and bring it back to the heart of the community.

If you'd like to join us, please complete and return the volunteer application form.

At Ore Community Centre our ethos is to ‘serve the local community’ by bringing together the local residents for educational, exercise, and social activities.

The Centre is run by the Ore Community Association which is a charity run by local people and the users of the centre.  We have various rooms available to for hire. Please see our Room Hire page for more details.

There is a café which is closed at present, but will be relaunched as soon as we can. It will offer fresh food daily, nutritious soups, delicious cakes and lovely lunches, all at reasonable prices.

We have a lovely community garden at the front of the property with a seating area for the enjoyment of local residents. There is good disabled access together with toilet facilities.

Whilst we have been closed a lot of work has been carried out to address the significant historic environmental health, fire and electrical safety concerns. Also we have had time to redecorate parts of the Centre to benefit the users.

New Trustees have been appointed. Huge thanks to Ron Spence who has stood down after many years of sterling service.
